The Daily News

I just ran across some ice cream I didn't know was hiding in the corner of the freezer.

  Evil stuff, ice cream.

  Especially any Ben and Jerry's.

This generally moves to debates about the best ice cream on the planet.

What I pulled from the freezer is Ben and Jerry's Karamel Sutra Core.

You don't have to be Fellini to grab the significance of that one.

  Think you.

Amazingly my computer froze. Just now.

   Artificial intelligence.

A part of me wants to put the bastid in his place.

  The insecure computer.

  It's...

  NVM.

I think that NVM means never mind.

Such fun. Whoever does the grammar checks on these blogger thingies corrected me.

  Just now.

It corrected me on the word nevermind. It corrected to never mind. It didn't offer a definition. I interpret that to be an adjective meaning with no mind. That would cross over to an adjective meaning quite simply stupid. Shakespeare could turn grammar any which way, so why can't anyone else? That fellow herein hath a never mind.

According to the often nonsensical Dictionary.com, nevermind is a noun that means attention; heed. It goes like this: pay him no nevermind. It is used as a slang double negative.

Technically it is an adverb/verb/ Siamese triplet.

Never is an adverb. Mind is either a verb, mind you, or a noun, if you have a mind.

 I am such a nerd, I swear.

 Oh, I imagine.

Moving On, Part One: Anybody lookin'?

For the record I never thought I would spend so much time on grammar as I have this year. I am obsessed ever since the Man metaphorically burned and buried every copy of English Grammar and Composition, one of the grandest grammar books ever.

My students enjoy it, believe it or not.

  Listen:

  "ARE YA READY KIDS???"

  "Aye aye, Captain!"

  Yesterday.

  Happened in my sixth.

  God I'm gonna miss this.

  Seesly.

  Think you.

   Just am.

  Think you.

That's how my sweet and wonderful students say Thank You. They don't realize it, every time I here it I smile. "Think you."

I'm writing this into the midnight.

  I needs must rest.

I've miles to go before I sleep.

And miles to go before I sleep.

  Gottago.

  See you again.

  Peace.

~H~
