CHAMPS!!!
Say cheese.
Storied franchise! Take no prisoners!!! I LOVED the question mark, because this is could very well be the beginning of a long dynasty for the Oakland A's!!!
You have the support of this Giants' fan, and I'm hoping most Giants' fans will rally behind the A's.
It's gonna be a fun ride. No split caps. Just gonna throw my support to this, and have a little fun.
Looking forward to watching.
It's much more entertaining than Property Virgins, which can now add the Niners to its list of things it out-enterains.
Whew. And most people know I'm not a huge fan of entertainer awards' shows. Lotta tasteless glam, usually. I will break that code just this once to say they chose the right Best Series. Breaking Bad is dynamic. That's all I'll say. Brilliant, one of the best in history.
Moving On, Part One: Niners? <see number 6, above>
We'll see. They're still my boyz, just like the Giants are still my boyz, but yeesh!
I'm just sayin'! Go A's.
And go Raiders tonight! They've been fun! That wasn't just a tag on; I planned to bring the Raiders to the mix all week. I'll watch, and I'll root.
Okay sports' fans, that's about it for that stuff.
Moving on, Part Two: Saturday saw us celebrating an engagement party for my daughter Nicoley and Matt Seymour, her guy, and he is a cool guy! Got to meet his family and they are awesome! Fun afternoon and night.
Meanwhile, Caitlin and Josh moved in the drivin' rain to their new house! They bought it and got in almost under the radar. Same day! They were soaked and a bit dispirited, but with the help of my sister Linda, husband Randy, her daughter Amy and little Ari they got it all done.
Lots of movement.
Did you enjoy that rain? I found it refreshingly fun.
All that stuff gave me a break from grading six million papers.
DAYUM! Yup, I counted on my fingers. Six million. Got 1.5 million graded this weekend. Just...<counting on fingers> days to go. Good grief.
Moving on, Part Three: Anybody lookin'? Boy, the PTA sure did a good job of painting these benches.
As I always manage to do this time of the year, I bit off a whole lot more than I could chew.
First, we had Spirit Days each day. They're different than YB Spirit Days. These ones are just gimmick days that involve the entire school. The theme was "Decades" the entire week.
I managed to dress for 20's, 60's and 80's but never managed to dress out for 50's.
I didn't know about it. I thought we had Wednesday off.
Friday's 80's turned out fun!
I was in a bit of a quandary as to whether to dress up before I left home, or to put it all together at school.
I put my stuff on at home and then drove to school. I joked a bit on Friday about Ozzie appearing in my bathroom mirror. If you thought I meant Ozzie Nelson, you need an Ovaltine and a bowel movement.
This was followed by a fade-to-black.
What really happened was this: I wound up going completely over the top on this one. I had a Slash wig, a top hat holding on both wig AND black-and-teal boa, all of which draped down a black Ozzie shirt. It was black with a skeleton pic and metal chains.
I even inserted a Mad Hatter 10/6 card in the hat and tilted it just so.
The grandest irony of them all is that I found a pair of red sunglasses at Savers, brand spankin' new, and wore them.
Last week I railed against sunglasses, but I must confess I loved hopping into the Ol' Timeuh and cruising down the road with head-banging 80's tunes vibrating the windows.
Yup.
I dressed out and THEN drove to work, with the Police blasting out my windows. I ignored everyone and laughed, almost like the Joker. The hills smiled back.
That behavior is uncustomary for me these days. I went all out and had a blast. I had so much fun!
It looked like Slash on Halloween, a nice foreshadowing. I went to the front office to turn in some stuff and another teacher laughed at me and said, "You WISH!"
Actually, I didn' wisht. I was just ripping it up and getting into the spirit. I had tons of fun!
Old Brown Shoes just wanna have fun.
Great day. Must have been bizarre for the kids taking an verbal vocab test. It was like taking a test from Howard Stern, or Slash.
I played 80's music all day. I found some awesome mix on You Tube.
Take on me.
It occurred to me that very much of the eighties WAS a huge costume party. People walked around dressed like fish lures.
Moms literally wore army boots, as in, "Ah, yer mama wears army boots!"
I'll tumble 4 ya.
Good times. I decided later to morph back to myself for the ride home.
I never took a picture. I posed a lot though.
I hope none are on Facebook!
Ah, who cares? It's all about good times.
Okay, not much else today. We have grades due Wednesday so I'd better get outta here while I have a little time.
Have a GREAT day.
Fly low.
Live life.
Love life.
Peace.
