  SMART MOUTHS

   "THE ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT CHAIN
   HOMETOWN BUFFET HAS FILED FOR
   BANKRUPTCY. A SPOKESPERSON FOR
   THE COMPANY SAID, "WE DIDN'T
   REALIZE JUST HOW MUCH
   AMERICANS CAN EAT."

"KANYE WEST IS IN SWEDEN VISITING
  THE HEADQUARTERS OF IKEA.
  KANYE WANTED TO GET ADVICE
FROM IKEA BECAUSE AFTER A FEW
YEARS HE, TOO, IS STARTING TO
  FALL APART."

  Conan O' Brien

3  I have to hand it to Conan on that one. I also have to hand it to the Sac Bee for luring me in. Pretty fun paper so far. Never underestimate the power and enjoyment of a reasonably decent newspaper.

4  I like to send out a Happy Half-Year Birthday to my lil'
G-Dots Isla and Maren. I can't believe they are six-months old already, and there appears to be no turning back.

5  Ten more of these and they'll be a couple of old geezers.

6  SO cute though.

7  Another in series of sighs.
ct of "from

8  They sure get prettier by the minute.

9  Believe it or not, it took me all night getting those posted.

10 I once again got about twenty "Oh, snaps..." from Google.

11 Or whoever. Whoops. Or whomever. <object of "from." Therefore, objective case. I can make a case for that.>

12  The nice thing is that I chilled with it. With the prospect of living with the Google "Oh, snaps..."

13  Sometimes laptops, especially cheap laptops, go, well, cheap on you.

14  In the end, I almost, almost got teary when I saw the picture of the new family in the pumpkin patch. That was arguably the first real outing we had with those two punkins, and the day reminded me of Field of Dreams, complete with sunset, clouds, and cornfield.

15  I took the last picture the second they got home from the hospital, so it is technically their first second at home.

16  It travels well with the baseball connotations, but really, how else do you word that one?

17  And yes, in many ways, they stole home! But in a mannerly and benign fashion.

18  So adorable I can't even stand it.

19  Moving On, Part One: Inspiration. I fell way off my slow climb of trying to hit 10,000 steps a day and 4.0 miles, not much by all you joggers out there, but realistically good on my end. Those are all extra steps.

20  The past three days I've gotten my stats back up, and yesterday morning I woke up at around 5:30 and walked swiftly for well over an hour, a little over 4.2 miles before I even showered.

21  The trouble is, last night these pictures weren't loading well, and I had my share of Google "Oh, snaps..." which essentially would shut down all thought with each removal from my writing.

22  AND I was searching around for some fun pictures of the babies, and I believe I found them. It's just that at around 11:20 I finished the picture spread, and then remembered the 4.2 whatevs. I looked around the house and it had a few dishes here and a few clothes strewn there; not bad, but I had left everything a bit slovenly, and I don't like to do slovenly, despite the way I look.

23  jk

24  Sort of. I have been rockin' the Cargo shorts/Hoodie/Sox-in-Sandals look, but that's just because I like to elicit wolf whistles from dames.

25

26  AnywayZ...

27  <There is no Z in the word "anyway." In fact, there is NEVER an "s" at the end of the word. It is, correctly, "anyway.">

28  <...and using sideways triangles for anything is considered imbecilic, but I do it anyways. = ) >

29  "anyway."

30  I ended up having walked off a grand total of 5.4 miles and 12,685 steps by midnight, AND I cleaned each time I would take a lap around the kitchen.

32  That was sort of the formula I had perfected since mid-February, and I have found it works quite well.

33  It also dovetails nicely with sunrise hikes, something I always did in Tahoe each summer.

34  Or Mars.

35  Or wherever. I would wake up at around 5 a.m. and dress, drive up to Eagle Falls, and romp around taking pictures of the sunrise over Emerald Bay.

36  Sacramento offers a touch of Tahoe. You have clear views of the Sierra up here. Yesterday and this morning I enjoyed walking all around, and glancing at the sunrise. Yesterday's was pretty; today's grey and dreary.

37  I am just beginning to really "get" what a fun place this is.

38  So I'm really at the dawn of a lot of fun hobbies and things.

39  Those little babies in the pictures were quite a handful when they arrived on the scene. The Field of Dreams pictures show just how tiny they were. And how vulnerable.

40  They have gotten much easier, and really fun. They came over and visited all day yesterday, and had me smiling the entire time, even when they would get fussy.

41  We've also broken the world record for most times having watched Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, which I believe is 2,742 times in a row. And I still laugh at that supercilious Gopher.

42  Well, I think I would like to end this week on a good not First, it is 8 a.m. and I have already logged 3.87 miles and 8,505 steps, with an entire Friday and weekend coming up. My feet are sore, but I'll continue to bring those stats up, whenever time.

43  And of course, I want to wish you a Happy Half-Year Birthday, little ladies!

44  You don't know what the word cliche means, but I do, and I still love you both to the moon and back.

45  Have a GREAT weekend, and wish all the people reading this a great weekend as well, will ya, you little cuties?

46  See you again. G-pa loves you.

47  Peace.

G-Pa

48  And Peace to all those who enjoy reading this each day! Thank you for joining me in all of this. It really is a lot of fun!

49  See you again.

50  Peace.
