The Daily News

Ever wish you could toss your teevee out the window?

 Good Lord.

I'll bet I could find a DN from 1996 that mirrors the same sentiment.

 Haven't done it yet.

I've been watching what we have affectionately called "Murder and Mayhem" lately.

I don't wish to bring up any specific shows; that's no fun.

I sat down yesterday afternoon and asked myself this: Why did I write about Winnie-the-Pooh yesterday?

I think I am running from all the murder and mayhem on teevee. It might be the colder weather, but it gets on my nerves. I even experience nightmares, not a good thing for a card-carrying insomniac.

I have dreams of tee-vee's with stick legs chasing me down the street.

On the screen are the words "Murder and Mayhem".

Good work if you can find it.

Moving On, Part One: That takes care of that. Annnnnnnd...gone. So easy.

 And now...some three-panel Shakespeare:

That goes out to my <former> students.

The Caesar one is a perfect example of common corpse.

  Okay, that one was reaching.

What I just shared is about all you need to remember about Shakespeare, if you were at one time a student of mine.

 Oh.

 And Shrew.

 Always Shrew.

Moving On, Part One: It's raining.

I awakened this morning promptly at 6 a.m.

I had a Picadilly dream that I was in London.

I've never been, but it was delightful, and one of those dreams that seemed clear.

It was in black and white, which never happens with my dreams. Or with the ones I remember.

 LDN.

 Some day.

There was no red in the dream, but I liked the pic.

Two straight days of poetic license.

 Rain.

I'm watching Judge Faith right now.

 Great name.

Once in a while I enjoy a day of Judge shows.

I always get guilty because I know I should spend my time doing more productive activities.

But it's raining. And like it or not, I'm still just a bit on school time. Can't help it.

And Wednesdays were always minimum days at EV, which were great for the students but which always seemed to interrupt the week to me. YB had them on Mondays, which made much more sense in terms of the students' learning.

Most learning takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Doesn't that make sense? Mondays were always Mondays, and sort of a comedown from the weekend.

It was always difficult to enter a Monday. They were really a warm-up to Tuesdays.

Fridays always end at noon no matter what job you have. You know it; I know it; we all know it.

Some of my longtime readers might recall that I have had a campaign to eliminate Tuesday as a day of the week for years now. I thought it would make working much more tolerable for everyone.

I won't state reasons here; I assume you could probably ponder it and figure it out yourself.

If we can add a leap day every four years, why can't we eliminate Tuesdays?

The only people who might mind would possibly be people born on Tuesday.

Four day work week. Same pay. All in favor?

Six billionaires just walked out on this conversation.

 Bye Felicias.

 Gottago.

Have a GREAT day. Take none of this seriously.

 See you again.

 Peace.

~H~
