The Daily News
Happy Wednesday.
I walked into the house late yesterday, and Obama was in the middle of (or he was at the end of) his State-of-the-Union Address. (See last photo, above).
At the time, I found myself preoccupied with unloading groceries, thinking of cooking, and avoiding the tracking of mud into the house. The last thing I gave a hoot about was Obama, and I declare this with utmost sincerity.
I also cooked a dinner made up of organic veggies and microwave pot roast. Took twelve seconds.
I've been through millions of those State-of-the-Union speeches. ALWAYS more work for me, because I'm traditionally engaged in much cooler activities.
State-of-the-Union addresses. I swear. They used to be eloquent speeches, followed by handshakes and prescriptive talking heads. You would hear the word "indeed" repeatedly. Over to you.
I found myself duly unimpressed.
Were I a Republican, I would have focused on the vicious-looking nostrils of the two secret service fellows in the foreground of each shot. Meme Translation: Wants to Take Our Guns Away. Surrounded by Socialists With Guns.
I also focused on the clearly liberal photo-bomb dude with the long, grey, bad hair who inadvertently (or, so it seemed, dun dun dunnnnnnnn!) photo-bombed the entire catastrophe. Liberal moron, Obama liberal geek. You didn't need to listen to anything. Thank God, or Joe-the-Bear, or even the Creator of the Universe.
Fox News treated the President quite well, to my surprise, at least verbally. They brainwashed the many more with praise for what a fine speech the President gave. Granted, I came in late, but didn't hear a thing that sounded historical. No "I have a dream" stuff. In a way, it is Obama's style to be regular-guy status.
As I compose this stuff, I have yet to look at the social media's response to the speech. I'm dying to know how they slanted it, or if they even gave it a second thought.
There is usually award in curiosity, so let us proceed, shall we? I'm going to sleep it off, and see where the "liberal" media takes this, or if they remotely care. Hell, you already have Donald Trump and Hillary to kick in the balls. Obama is a lame duck with swag, humor, and basketball skills. Very much the everyman, or at least the everyman a lot of us would like to be.
Hope. Hold on. I'm going on a search. BRB. Okay, I'm back. Did you miss me?
I searched for pics of the two furtive secret-service guys, but came up empty.
I also searched for liberal photo-bomb dude with the wavy hair.
I found none of them on Google, the main source for all knowledge. This is of course followed closely by Wiki, with Fox a seemingly distant third. Ah, Twenty-First Century journalism. Snakes on a plane.
So.
I'm still awaiting how this entire ordeal will slant.
And I do so with a bit of annoyance.
Why?
Because every time a major media story throws itself into the DN, my workload increases a bazillion fold.
As I've said, good work if you can get it.
<bleh>
Moving On, Part One: So. Think It'll Rain, Dept: Of course it's going to rain.
The weather is predictable, most times.
Most times.

Okay. <rolls up sleeves; cracks knuckles>
The sun is up. The sky is blue.
<Breaks into song> When the moona hits your eye like a bigga pizza pie...
Sorry. I got Italian for a millisec. Won't happen again. That's one-thousandth of a second. A millisecond is.
That's amore.
Moving On, Part Two: Oy.
I just awakened for the day, only to read that I must now research how that boring-ass speech played to the controlled social media. There wasn't much out there last night when I conked out.
Step back. I'll handle this.
Step back. I'll handle this.
BRB.

I'm back.
Didja leave?
As I suspected, nary a word. The first black President giving his State-of-the-Union address. That's major history, people. Obama should have written his own speech. I'm just impressed that he fought what must have been pure Hell to rise to where he did. It is one of the most underrated achievements in human history. But the our tabloid journalists dropped the ball. Completely.
In many ways I'm thankful. I expected more Obama bashing, which the media loves doing. Never mind that the Bush dynasty slept with Nazis. Search Prescott Bush. Or that the Clinton's allowed cocaine to cross borders. If you are conservative, read liberal stuff. If you are liberal, read conservative stuff. But by all means, read for God's sake. Someone is lying. You can rely on that.
Moving On, Part the Thoid: Think it'll rain?

In a way, I'm grateful that the State-of-the-Union address was underplayed. NFL news was the clear winner. The Rams return to Los Angeles. The Raiders stay in Oakland. That's great news. Can they tear down the Coliseum and build a new stadium? Key question.
I didn't even know any of this was happening 'til I got home from staring down lovely babies all day. Cuteness never looked so good.
Ah, thank goodness no one reads this nonsense.
I'd have enemies up and down the coast.
Anybody lookin'?

I love you guys.
I gottago. For the record, the media ain't liberal.
And that's what is scary. They're that good.
Look into it and get back to me, willya?
Meanwhile, thanks Obama.
REALLY gottago.
See you again. Stay sane.
Peace.
