CHAMPS!!!
GIANT ANARCHY!!!
1 OH YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!2 What a NIGHT!!!
3 That's one for the ages.
4 WOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!
5 I began with this item once again last night. I wasn't so sure then. I began writing today's DN right before the game. I had a fearful feeling, not gonna lie. On item seven I started doubling up so that I'd have this written whether we won or lost. Here is what it looked like:
****************************************************************
6 Everyone and his brother was saying we would win, including me.
7 Looks like I was a soothsayer.
7 Looks like I'm an idiot.
8 I ain't got no time to keep writing this stuff; I have a BALLGAME to watch.
9 I'm not going to grade any papers tonight; who am I foolin'?
10 Meh.
******************************************************************
11 You get the my drift.
12 I TRIED grading papers. I read one girl's paper about her aunt's passing away. It tore me up. She talked about how it confused her beyond anything ever, but that she knew her aunt wouldn't have wanted her sad. She worked out of it and is much stronger because of it.
13 I put down my pencil and almost cried. It killed me. I looked at all the hooplah of the game and put things in a little perspective.
14 It didn't take long. Those papers screamed at me to continue but I decided I invested tons of hours to this team all year, and I was gonna ride this one.
15 Every pitch was agony. I felt I was responsible for Bumgarner throwing balls at rocks.
16 Then we fell behind.
17 Then Morse hit one into the night sky, and ATT became a Field of Dreams.
18 Carl Steward of the Merc News quoted Hunter Pence about that moment this morning. Here is what he said about Morse's shot into the night:
" 'It was a moment that was absolute chaos, total anarchy,' said Morse's best buddy, Hunter Pence. 'I lost my mind. He lost his mind. He deserved it, because stepping up in that moment, it's special. He battled back from that injury, got healthy for us, and made it count.' "
19 The inimitable Mark Purdy gave us this:
"...well, the next few seconds were fuzzy.
' I blacked out, ' Pence said. 'I was too elated. I couldn't see. I couldn't think. I lost my mind. It was just absolute anarchy in my head. Anarchy.' "
Know what? That might be the perfect motto for what the Giants have accomplished this Autumn. They are baseball anarchists. "
20 Well, yeah.
21 You saved me a lot of writing this morning, gentlemen.
22 Thanks.
23 I couldn't have put it better.
24 I've used the word "other-worldly" more than once.
25 You have to have baseball in your blood to understand, and even then, unless it is your team, you just can't enjoy the dance.
26 That's Mad Bum at the top of the page drinking five beers at once. The news stories varied the amount, some saying six, some four. I'm pretty sure the number didn't matter. The Series MVP mattered, despite the outing that caused him to binge.
27 You earned it dude.
28 With that, I'll let it all process.
29 After all, I have a saloon to run.
30 Gottago.
31 See you again.
32 Oh, yeah.
33 Peace.
~H~
