1  I overslept.

2  That's not a bad thing.

3  A full hour.

4  THAT'S not a bad thing.

5   This means I'll have to keep this nonsense short.

6   That's WAY not a bad thing.

7   Anybody lookin'?

8   Last night I was pacing the entire game.

9   I  started writing notes on all my empty recyclables: milk cartons, cashew cans, newspapers, etc. 

10  Most of them I couldn't use because they contained too many words one mustn't utter in polite company.

11  Others...

12  Conspiracy theories, of  course.

13  The lid of my empty cashew can said this: "BOCH!!! WHO'S PAYIN' YOU? IT'S OBVIOUS!!!"

14  Ouch.

15  I was a madman. 

16  And then throwing Belt under the bus?

17  AND starting a 39-year old has been tonight???

18  Ah, I'll calm down. 

19  Always do.

20  So does this team.

21  The Merc News was unbelievably forgiving.

22   All the articles were about how calm and Zen the Giants were last night. 

23   I'm already calm and Zen. 

24   I'm wearing the same baseball tie and my broken lanyard again, as I have every game of the Series.

25  Because baseball has no superstition.

26  I still had a hummingbird fly at me towards the end of the game. 

27   A hummingbird is always Mom, in my eyes. They fly at the most amazing times.

28   I have had rainbow lights dancing on walls in three different places through the Series as well: my living room, from a crystal hanging in the front window, Dad's house, from the glass on his front door, and my classroom, from some different-colored studs on bouncing off a Renaissance mask. 

29  And last night I awakened in the middle of the night and got up to get a glass of water. I walked down the hall and bumped into a small bookcase. Something went crashing to the ground. 

30  I shone my flashlight on it, and it was the book Recipes From Nonie's Kitchen, given to me by my sister Gayle at Christmas. The first page says, "Made with 100% Love."

31  There.

32   A frown is a smile upside down.

33   So Boch.

34   Do this.

35   Give Huddy the night off and a cigar for being so good early this season.

36   Then give the ball to Mad-Bum.

37   He is the ONLY pitcher who can stop the bleeding. 

38   And even THAT isn't a sure thing.

39   Give it to him. 

40   He's a country boy from North Carolina. Home grown. He gave his wife a calf for her birthday. 

41   Give him the ball and stand back. 

42   Gottago.

43   Go the Distance.
