The DN

  Happy Frideeeeeee!!!!!!!

  It IS Frideeeeee, innit?

  <thud>

   Don't you hate that?

  <thud>

Work all week, and right when you are ready to let off a little steam your entire being goes <thud>.

  Welcome to 2014.

  It's a grand thud year.

  Ah vell.

 It's fun.

 No, it IS.

You reach a point where hearing a bird singing early on a Spring day is fun.

  I look up and smile.

When I was younger fun had a different definition. It meant going out, doing things, being massively active and bragging about it.

Here's the deal: no one cares.

I save a LOT of money knowing that.

I like looking at the sky and the clouds this time of the year.

San Jose takes on an entirely different atmosphere in March and April.

The hills turn green; the cherry blossoms flitter, and the clouds push.

I love driving into the hills this time of the year. It is particularly fun with music and the TOOOOOONDRA.

The other day in fact I went out to the TOOOOOONDRA and tried to fire her up.

I wanted to fly. I wanted to take Phoebe for a ride into the hills.

I grabbed my keys from their strongbox and ran out. I climbed in and turned the key.

  I got chokes and wheezes.

  O, the humanity!

The inside of  the cab was clean, and the TOOOOOOONDRA looked and felt wonderful.

  It just didn't start.

Pretty sure it's a dead battery. They happen in new rains.

Not worried, just disappointed. I was ready to fly and it didn't work.  :(   <-----------sad emoticon dude, still in use.

I was still able to jet using the Ol' Timeuh, which is probably misnamed. It is more like a Batmobile to me. It's simple, fun and fast.

Not super fast, just fast fast.

I got my fold-up ladder into that car yesterday. I needed it to hang students' Renaissance masks. Mask day, a modern classic up at the Chill-on-the Hill.

I have been able to fly through the hills. Not as much as I would like, but going up even for a mile or two this time of year can't be beat. Morning's are particularly nice. I drive through the hills to get to my school. Lovely location overlooking the entire South Bay.

San Jose always works this time of the year. It comes into lovely Spring colors, augmented on a lovely day with dew droplets and cherry blossoms.

And music. The Spoonful have been fun. Nothing like a cup of morning coffee followed by some sweet jug-band music.

  Fun. Bloggin'.

Moving On, Part One: I had fun yesterday coming home, heating up some soup and curling into a comforter and an old Western.

You come to appreciate things like that. You don't need to go anywhere if you make things nice where you are.

I guess I've just hit the moment in life where I'm going to slow it all down and smile when the sun's rays split the clouds and light the hills. I'd take a picture but it couldn't catch it. It's too immediate, too fast, and to soon over. I'll take it with a smile rather than with a camera.

Yup. Sometimes you have to count your blessings.

It is still last night. It's still quiet, save for a spaghetti western featuring Ennio Morricone music. Four dead cowboys just rolled down a hill and scared a horse.

I'm going to drink this one in. Sidebar: this goes out to YB alumz. Did you guys know that the small room in the back of the Band Room was called the Ennio Morricone room? When I first got there someone had penciled his name on the wall. Useless trivia, but accurate.

You have a great weekend, in the meanwhile.

  I'll see you again.

  Peace.

  The End.
~H~
