The DN

  Anybody lookin'?

  How's the world been?

  I've NO idea.

  That figurative Tsunami continues.

  Ridin' it like a buffalo.

  Worst mixed metaphor EVER.

   I stand tall.

   whythenkyouthenkyouthenkyou.

   So lessee. Any BIG news?

Actually yes. I found a new restaurant that made my eyeballs split in two and run off two different sides of the table.

The other day I saw that the East Lake Chinese Seafood restaurant was closed for renovations. If you hang out anywhere remotely near the Evergreen area you KNOW that place will only get better.

 Best kept secret around.

But CLOSED?  =(   <------sad emoticon dude.

What to do, what to do. The other day I saw that the East Lake was closed. I don't generally eat during the school day, so I have occasioned the East Lake when needs be.

They serve HOT food, not stuff that's been cooking under a lightbulb. Consequently their reno is a pretty big hit, people.

People.  = P  <-------frustrated emoticon dude whose tongue is hanging out the side of his mouth because he realizes he has just said something HALLA pretentious.

  Anybody lookin'?

  AnywayZ...

I had to act fast. Each Wednesday the wonderful Ca Mau is also closed. Double whammy if you ask me. They're one of the best, they know me AND they treat me like an emperor. This might be because in my new winter coat I look like Buddha.

I was on a time ordeal because I had a half hour to get food and to return to after-school meetings. I usually go home right after school 'cuz I have a prep period, so each day I dust my room, grade some stuff, and zip out at precisely 3:15.

I learned that one from my fellow Blues' Brother Al Russel-Bob.

  Those what knows me knows.

  AnywayZ

There's a brand NEW place located right between the East Lake to the north and the Evergreen office of Maddy Nguyen to the south.

Maddy doesn't even know me, but I was hoping if I went into the restaurant she might be there. I like hanging with big shots, especially big shot mayoral candidates. Her stage name is Madison.

  AnywayZ

I went in. No Maddy. I got seated swiftly, ordered and had a short wait.

I ordered pho. A number one small.

The lady helping me brought a plate with really fresh veggies and sprouts and stuff, and ice-milk coffee and an ice water. What more does a fella need?

She then scooted this HOT bowl of pho right in front of me. It looked like it was still boiling! It smelled of half a million bits of garlic. I swooned. It had seafood, beef, rice noodles (you choose) and TONS of garlic, all steamingly and deliciously hot.

Ridiculous flavor. <folding napkin neatly and touching it to mouth, as good etiquette insists> Fast, good service, and a nice clean place.

That stuff started to eat me. The entire planet disappeared as hot and steamy garlic shot through my eyes. I was drenched.

By the time I put my eyeballs back into their sockets it was time to go back to the Chill.

I started to back out and thought, "I need to TELL people about this place!"

I backed out slowly, my new fedora blocking the sign just a bit.

I backed out a little more and the name of the place was revealed: The Hong Ky.

I'm not EVEN kidding! Here's the whitest of white guys backing out of this place, wearing a fancy jacket, shirt, tie and fedora.

  I laughed.

So ya got it? If you want to try an entire new experience, this honky says go to the Hong Ky!

  Ya gotta love it.

  Ya gotta love it.

  That's about it for today.

  Lovely afternoon.

If you go, careful you don't singe your nose.

That's a great little area to eat. It's right next to the 7-11 and across the street from Carls Jr.'s.

  That's it.

  Gottago.

  See you again.

  Peace.

~H~
