At last.
Ah, the very beautiful Etta James. That song just played on the teevee.
Where do I even begin?
Maybe with the NFL?

Nah. Too creepy.
I'm reeling from an amazing weekend.

Moving On, Part One: I can't believe I'm finally done upgrading school stuff.
This job becomes a grunt after a while.
Don't get me wrong. I LOVES me some teaching.

But I haven't had a day off in two weeks. I'm completely exhausted.
Anybody lookin'?
It's last night it occurred to me that today is September 22, and that Back-to-School Night is tomorrow night.
I don't mind.
In fact, I LOVE'S me some Back-to-School Night.
It's just that I was WAY into grading LOTS of papers this weekend. .
I knew the end of the grading period was Wednesday, so I put all my weekend power into that deadline.
I lost track of time, which I don't usually do. For whatever reason I thought I had a little more time before Back-to-School Night.
It seems so logical to the layperson.
Collide. I had almost forgotten BTSN. I was in a race to hit the grading deadline.

I forgot BTSN was tomorrow night even though I schlepped a bunch of magazine projects home to grade.

I give that specific assignment for a bazillion reasons, one of which is that they are always impressive at Back-to-School Night.
This year a few of my students even made interactive digital magazines. WAY cool.
So the project has been fun for a number of students. How do I know this?
I asked. A lot of students felt it was a valuable lesson in writing, plus it became fun once it morphed into scrap booking.
Anyway, if I could give an analogy it would be like the actor or actress who would look at me and say, "The Show opens this weekend???" And I would roll my eyes.
My answer to myself on that one is, "No, the Show opens tomorrow night!"
I have one day to clean my room and set up over 125 magazines.
There's only one way to do that: just go in and do it.

Deadlines.
Scary.
Ah, it happens.

Ah, well.
It is what it is.
Sometimes we simply have no control.
I certainly don't.
I'm spinnin'.
Got the forgets once more. That's not senility forgets; that's multi-tasking forgets. There is little difference.
Again: not altogether a bad thing. Sometimes getting the forgets is a nice defense mechanism. I keep telling myself that.
I gottago.
No, SERIOUSLY.
I gottago.
Monday.
I'm ready.
I'm never ready for a Tuesday, but Mondays?
Right there.
And magazines and my classroom?
I'll manage to rock it. I just needs must have Crystal Light and Nutella right before.
The rest?
Cake.
I gottago.
Love you.
See you again.
Peace.
~H~
