Say cheese.
Watched a John Fogerty special on some channel or other last night late.
He talked of playing at Woodstock. Yes, THE Woodstock with hope, love, mud and rain.
Why would I write about the second Woodstock?
He looked and played well. Fun hearing a lot of his good ol' boy tunes. Makes you forget he's a Californian.
Scratchin' lots of oldies on a Les Paul.
Very clean sounding.
He told a quick story about how after the rains came down at Woodstock he went home and wrote Who'll Stop the Rain.
Useless info, but brought a late night smile.
I had that afternoon yesterday where I conked out. You know that one? It's usually a Monday, but can happen on a Tuesday just as easily.
I love visiting Dad and helping him get things done. It's just being anywhere away from home on weekends is always exhausting.
Sometimes I come home from a vacation and want to sleep for hours and re-group.
All that relaxing can wear a fellow out.
Monday doesn't rattle me too much. Longer lectures than I would have liked, but a quick day. I shot off to the doctor's for a check-up. Far as I know, I'm still walking around.
I didn't mention the Nurse Ratched hallucinations that happened on Saturday. That was more of a daydream, and a mild form of oatmeal chuckle. All a lark.
Nurse Ratched. Bringing in the BIG guns.
Sort-of-Heidi Trip One: Yesterday, once I had my fourth period students finally settled, I overheard a girl at the desk in front of me say to her friends, "I was looking all ratched!"
Looked up from my keyboard, shook my head, and got back to work. I later mentioned the coincidence, but as always, it got lost.
I had never HEARD of that word until Cuckoo's Nest, about which I spoke the night before last.
I started a list of Heidi trips that began in the middle of last week, and already have a list that looks lengthy, like some proclamation by King George III.

Anybody lookin'?
Moving on, Part One: I will be telling the Heidi Chronz at our Homecoming Dance on November 2. It will be outside, around a sort of campfire (I assume a barbecue of some sort) where people can enjoy some s'mores and a ghost story to beat the band.
I may be able to get some alumni on a guest list if you would be interested. It would be somewhere around 9:30 p.m.
I'll probably tell the classics, with a VERY modern twist, considering the past week.
I don't know all the logistics, just that the Leadership students thought it would be a fun addition to the dance.
My first tour.
It's funny because the Heidi stories were never intended to be entertainment. To many, they were personal stories, real things, and Heidi a part of history.
I began telling them to the drama kids years ago simply because the rumors were worse than the realities. The stories distorted, and sometimes ran off in other directions.
That's why I wrote them for the now deceased ybdrama.com website.
Right now I may have remnants of that story on my desktop in my office. I don't work in the office too much because I need to keep my leg elevated, and that's easier in my living room.
It's way late as I write this, or I'd explain still more.
In the midst of all of this, I'm trying to teach classes, run two clubs, meet with community people, and <gulp!> grade thousands of papers.
My new club, called DA GAP (drugs, alcohol, gambling awareness and prevention) will be building a haunted house for the dance, or at least assisting. We meet at noon Wednesday with Leadership kids to plan what should be a fun event. I've done two haunted houses, and both rocked. At least in my idiotic mind they did.
Rocktober.
I gotta cut this one short today. I got home exhausted and slept a bit, that sort of sleeping-off-a-burnout sleep.
Fogerty is finishing up with a rockin' version of Up Around the Bend. Fun little concert.
He just finished, and went straight into Run Through the Jungle, a song used on Supernatural.
Hmmm.
Sounds good.
You got the heidi heidi high.
Listen to the song. That line is clearly in it.
Quite a rocker.
Quite a fun Heidi trip.
They keep happening. Uverse Showcase. Watch it.
You got the heidi heidi high.
Now I really gotta take off. Great exit music if you ask me.
And a grand Heidi trip at the end of the evening.
I'll add it to mad King George's list.
'Til we meet again.
Have a GREAT day.
See ya. Stay cool.
Peace.
