Well, Happy Wednesday!
Don't these weeks just fly?
I had a teacher years ago who explained that all to me. Like when you are born, a year is half your life, so it seems from your perspective at the age of two that Christmas comes every time you are middle-aged, which is half your life, which is an eternity at that age.
But when you become say, forty, Christmas is just one-fortieth of your life, so they seem to come quicker, especially when they have Christmas-in-July sales each summer.
And THIS year is even weirder, because I travelled (Chiefly British spelling) a lot, for me, including a Halloween that I never saw while in Kaua'i, with the exception of the people in this little pub we enjoyed, who dressed up like Night of the Living Dead AND served us to boot. That's entertainment!
Gorgeous time. It's just that NOT having a real Halloween distorted an already distorted year.
I usually provide a Halloween post with all the strange things that happened and happen each year around Halloween.
I've spoken of Heidi, the purported ghost of the YB Theatre on many occasions, for example. Didn't get that one together, but I can reserve it for another time.
I'm not quite ready to give all that up this year, but time flies like an arrow.
And yes, fruit flies like a banana.
That old chestnut.
Always gives me a chuckle.
I'm just not used to it suddenly being Thanksgiving time.
I strangely like Thanksgiving. I say that because well, I just say it.
I've had a hankerin' for some turkey lately as well, but I'm trying to cut back on my sweets.
I never had a sweet tooth, by the way.
And now I'm happy to have ANY teeth.
But with all the odd changes going on, it's been really tough trying to get back in synch with the rest of the world.
Sounds like a personal prob.
Well, yes, I suppose it is.
Trying to keep the OIAWDN on track?

So.
I have to get to Novembering, even though I'm outta synch.
Moving On, Part One: On a personal note, I'd like to congratulate my daughter Nicole, her husband Matt, their dog, the incredible Rocky the Wonder Dog, and of course, their number-one son Li'l Jack for finally getting the keys to their new house, which I can walk to in five minutes!
They JUST got the keys and used the garage door opener for the first time. Took a stroll over there last night.
The place was empty! And that means LOTS of echoes for Li'l Jack, who ran from room to room yelling, "DAH!" He loved the echo, as did I. I wanted to grab a guitar and start singing in celebration. Not only was it nice getting out for a walk, but it was nice seeing a second kitchen for possible Thanksgiving cookin'!
So you never know how you might get back to synching up with the seasons, but watching a li'l varment like Jack running around making sounds that echo is surely a start.

Li'l Jack Attack! Jack at the new house,
singing a song called "DAH!"
Yup.
'Tis the Season.
Speaking of bananas...
Remember this?
Bananaz, writer Lou Silverstone,
illustrator Mort Drucker.
I sure do. For whatever reason, I got into a Bonanza thing ever since I got up to Tahoe this past summer. A whole slew of us hit up Virginia City, and from there, I got the bug.
Helene and I drove the entire perimeter of Tahoe, and I got out and looked at lots of the scenery that was used in various episodes.
There were many more, but this is my third attempt at writing this morning's DN and I would need a bit more time to gather some of those resources. Perhaps when things slow down a bit. Perhaps.
Empty promises?
Nah. I just like to let it ride on people forgetting I promised 'em anything.
That's the beauty of getting older.
You can blame everything on senility.
It ain't so bad once you get used to it.
But I promise, I really do.
I have all of the links on my Barnes and Noble Nook, which is now a couple of years old and not updated.
But it's there, I tellya.
Meanwhile, here's a fun link to the Mad Magazine stuff, above. It is a tribute piece to when writer Lou Silverstone had passed at the age of 90 in 2015:
Silverstone's brilliant Bats-Man, illustrated
by the illustrious Mort Drucker.
With that, I believe I'll call it a short Wednesday.
I prefer not using the term Hump Day. Brings on images of camels, and we can't have that now, can we?
Camel and Mickey.
So officially, gottago.
Have a GREAT day.
See you again. Oh. And this.
Live life.
Love life.
Peace.
~H~
fin.
